Sr. AI Scientist

Picture Health is hiring Senior AI Scientists to join our world-renowned medical imaging AI team. We believe that medical imaging data – already a core tool in cancer diagnosis and monitoring – is the next frontier in realizing the promise of precision medicine. As a member of our AI team, you will leverage your expertise in machine learning and computer vision to transform medical images into clinically actionable insights. Successful candidates will work with a diverse team of scientists, clinicians, and engineers to develop best-in-class algorithms with high real world impact and deliver them to patients.

What you’ll do: 

  • Build large scale deep neural network models to extract biological data from medical images 
  • Lead cross functional teams developing radiology and pathology imaging data algorithms which will guide clinical treatment decisions and clinical trial management
  • Work with engineers and clinical experts towards the clinical deployment of machine learning algorithms
  • Manage collaborative research projects with key academic and commercial partners 
  • Publish your work in top academic journals and conferences

Required Skills: 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field. 
  • 3-5+ years of post graduate work experience
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, data science, and statistics. 
  • Experience designing, training, and validating neural network models with one or more deep learning frameworks, such as Pytorch (prefered), TensorFlow, or Keras
  • Experience working with one or more forms of medical imaging data, such as radiology or digital pathology 
  • Record of scientific publications in high impact technical or medical journals/conferences
  • Software fundamentals such as version control, object-oriented programming, and collaborative software development
  • Fluency in Python
  • Ability to quickly acquire and synthesize scientific and medical domain knowledge into machine learning solutions 
  • A collaborative mindset, willingness to teach and learn 

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience deploying machine learning algorithms, particularly in a healthcare setting 
  • Hands-on work with an FDA cleared AI SaMD 
  • Leading and mentoring small project focused teams
  • Experience in transformer-based neural network models
  • Experience working with Docker containers and cloud-based compute environments
  • Extensive knowledge in biology, especially medical or oncology-related.

Location: Remote or Hybrid in Cleveland, OH. Team members travel for company on-sites every 6-8 weeks.
